To even think that this is a movie of 1956 is mind boggling or even unimaginable. The video quality rival the very best now and how that is possible is left unknown to mortals .

One of the most iconic movie ever.it got class of it's own .I wish I had seen it earlier than today but I'm happy I did .The actors and actress all deserved the highest accolades. EXCELLENT is the word that come close.

LOTS of jobs for people as "extras" in those ancient days! My former mother-in-law (rest her soul) worked her way through college at UCLA in part that way, in productions filmed entirely in Hollywood. And special effects took genuine ingenuity to make them look real. PLUS, there were real plots! It wasn't all CGI graphics and action, like so many comic-themed productions these days, with a plotline so meagre that you sometimes find it hard to follow as it meanders to and fro while fading in and out.

There are endless, brilliant touches in this film. One example: @6:53, when Ramesses drops his spear. Look at his fingers, and watch his arm, even after he has already dropped his spear. Look at him shaking. Even from behind, his body language speaks a thousand words. Ramesses, for the entire movie, portrayed himself as the highest level of an alpha male; a take-charge, no nonsense, fear no one, ruler. And in those few seconds, when he dropped his spear, we saw all of his power sapped. In those few seconds, seeing him from behind, communicated his complete and utter defeat. Even with the sea being the clear focus of everyone's attention, the wildly talented studio personnel still included all manner of other brilliant touches, such as what I described above.
